DUI School
Even if you are a first time DUI offender, you will be required to attend a mandatory drug and alcohol education program. These programs are designed to educate offenders and change their attitudes regarding drunk driving to prevent future DUI offenses.
The state of California includes the following programs for DUI offenders:
Wet Reckless Program
- Any offender convicted of reckless driving with a measurable BAC level will complete this 12 hour DUI education program.
First Offender Program
- For a first-time DUI offense, offenders will be required to attend a three-month, 30-hour alcohol and drug education program. Any offenders with a .20% BAC level or above will be required to complete a nine-month, 60-hour version of this program.
18-Month Program
- Multiple DUI offenders will be required to complete an 18-month program that includes group counseling, community service, and individual interviews in addition to drug and alcohol education classes.
30-Month Program
- In some multiple DUI offender cases, the judge may decide to sentence an offender to a 30-month DUI program that includes group counseling, community service, education classes, and individual interviews.
Your license will remain suspended or restricted until you finish your delegated education program and pass the exit review. Any questions regarding these programs or license restrictions can be directed to your Los Angeles DUI attorney.
